Wednesday 21st

Today was our last day in Canada and Alaska, it has been  fantastic time from when we first arrived in Victoria after the 15 hour flight, to the cruise to Alaska and the last two weeks driving through the Canadian Rockies. There have been different experiences in all the places we have stayed.

It was even a different experience at Calgary airport where we had to wait for an hour after we had checked in to go through US Customs, taking our bags with us and then through Canadian bag checks and then having to wait again get before we could enter the secure gate lounge. The flight has been great as we appear to be ahead of schedule and should arrive at about 8.10pm.

Well things went down hill from when we arrived, got our bags no problem and proceeded to Ground Transportation to arrange the shuttle pickup, we had a little trouble finding it as the signage was not clear, after booking it we where told it would be here in 30 minutes, 9.15pm, it finally arrived at 9.35. There where 9 people on the shuttle, one with a bike which proved problematic for the driver to fit all the bags in. After about 15 minutes he gave up and decided that passenger would have to take another shuttle, to do this he had to take him back into the terminal. 10 minutes later he returned with 3 additional passengers, I think he worked on a commission on the number of passengers he transported. We finally got to the hotel at about 11.30pm after we went around lower New York dropping off the 3 late passengers he picked up, without them it would have been 30 minutes earlier.

After checking in we went to an Irish pub three doors up for a bar snack as we where starving, we rolled into bed at about 12.20am.
