Wednesday 14th

Road trip today from Golden towards Jasper along the Icefield Parkway.

First off it was into Yoho National Park and out to Emerald Lake, but on the way we stopped at the Natural bridge, which is a natural formation on the Kicking Horse river.

It was then on to Emerald Lake.

Furry friend.

The receptionist at our hotel in Golden suggested we go and have a look at the Takakkaw Falls, they are one of the highest in Canada.

It was then onto the Icefield Parkway which stretches 230km from Lake Louise to Jasper.
We set off towards the Icefield Centre, 127km from Lake Louise.

We stopped at the Columbia Icefield but we where going to have to wait too long to get a trip onto the Icefield and we still had 100km to get to Jasper so we decided to give it a miss and see it on our way back.

When we got to Jasper there where No Vacancy signs out everywhere, even on B&B. There where people everywhere, we counted at least 30 coaches. Our only alternative was to drive to Hinton 75km out of Jasper. At the turnoff to the Meitte Hot Springs we saw the Pocahontas Cabins, we were lucky enough to get their last cabin, basic but clean and roomy, and the restaurant served up a nice meal.
