Thursday 22nd

New York - Day 1

Today was walking day, we decided we would to walk to Time Square and see it in the daylight and intend to go back tonight to see all the lights. Then onto Rockafeller Centre and Grand Central Station.

First off it was off to the roof of our hotel to look at the Empire State Building which is in the next block.

It took a little time to orientate our selves but once we had established we were heading in the right direction we were off.

We then ventured to Rockafeller Centre on the way we found Radio City.

There are shops and restaurants throughout the 3 block Center.

This is where they have the ice skating rink in the winter, it's a cafe in the summer.

We then headed to "Top of the Rock", 67 floors up and the views where spectacular, the sky's were perfect.

We visited a church on the way to Grand Central Station, it was magnificent inside.

It was then off to Grand Central Station, it was just like we had seen in the movies.

Tonight we headed back to Time Square, it as a buzz of people everywhere.

Plenty of roadworks going on.

Tomorrow we are Hop on, Hop off bussing it around the city and going to a Mets Baseball game in the evening on the subway.
