Saturday 20th

Today we commence the cruise aboard Coral Princess from Vancouver. It was an early start as we had to be at the bus in Victoria by 7.10am. It was so well organised as our bags once loaded on the bus then went straight to the ship, the next time we saw them was outside our room on board. The bus trip from Victoria to Swartz Bay was 40 minutes, then the ferry ride to tea was 90 minutes then another 40 minutes to Canada Place where we got on the Coral Princess.

The BC Connector ferry ride takes about 90minutes and we had breakfast onboard. It is a very well coordinated operation in that they disembark and reload the next lot of trucks, busses and cars within 30 minutes. It is very dry around Victoria and Vancouver. The following photos are from the bus trip into Vancouver.

When we arrived to check in it took about 1 1/2 hours to clear USA Customs as there where 2 cruise ships departing. Once onboard everything was sweet, we have a nice cabin with a balcony.

The band was playing whilst we waited to leave.

Two of the 3 pools onboard.

Vancouver Skyline looking aft from the ship.

New Amsterdam leaving before us.

Into the swing of cruising.

We ended up hanging tea with 3 other couples, one from Brisbane, one from New Zealand an a couple of ladies from Sacrimento USA. It was a fun evening and the food was great.
