Tuesday 4th

Today we at Freeport in the Bahamas, arriving at 6.00am.

Freeport is the main city on Grand Bahama, an island in the northwest Bahamas off the Florida coast. It's best known for the oceanfront Lucaya district's beaches, resorts and shopping. Nearby, Deadman's Reef is popular for snorkeling, and the surrounding offshore waters have many dive sites. Up the coast, Lucayan National Park features extensive underwater caves plus kayaking and nature trails.

We decided to take a cab into Port Lucaya, they are lined up adjacent to the ship, today there where 3 cruise ships in port, 2 diverted their because of the Pending Hurricane.

Because it was a very hot day we decided to take in the local "beach".

The water wasn't that great and was very salty so we decided to head back to the ship.

There where market stalls setup adjacent to the ships.

It was time for a dip in the aft pool.

The ship departed on time at 5.00pm.

Magic of the Seas departed just before us.

Grand Celebration was leaving after up.

Goodby Freeport.

Soon after leaving Freeport the Captain made an announcement that the cruise was being cut short due to the deteriorating conditions caused by Hurricane Matthew and we would sail directly to Port Canaveral, and we would arrive around 6.00am.

We then made a conscious decision not to go to Fort Lauderdale as it would not be safe to do so.

I contacted our travel agent in Australia to cancel the hire car and see if we could move our flight to Las Vegas, they got back pretty quickly and said we where best to contact United Airline direct as this was probably our best option. We did this and where able to change our flight to Thursday morning out of Orlando. It was then onto Bookings.com to find us something close to the airport, we where able to get a room at the Ramada.
